Dengue in Kodagu is under control… Dr. K M Satish Kumar

District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. K M Satish Kumar informed that the number of dengue cases is decreasing locally, due to awareness programs. Dengue fever is spreading in the state but a total of 126 cases have been reported in Kodagu district till the beginning of the year. 

13 people are being treated in the hospital for dengue fever. So far, a total of 14 dengue cases have been detected in Madikeri, 19 in Virajpet taluk, 1 in Somwarpet, 32 in Kushalanagar and the highest number of 42 cases in the district in Ponnampet taluk. 

K M Satish Kumar further said that most of the ‘dengue’ cases found in Kodagu district are from those with travel history from outside district and added that the number of dengue cases is decreasing locally, due to awareness programs in the district.

He further stated that 25 dengue cases were registered in the district last May, 40 in June and 13 in July and no cases of death due to dengue reported in the district.
