In connection with the illegal sale of marijuana case, the Kodagu police conducted a raid and seized four two-wheelers and one four-wheeler, including drugs, in Virajpettown police station limits and arrested K.B. Shafiq, resident of Perumbadi village under Argi Gram Panchayat of Virajpet Taluk, age 26 years, Mohammad Asim age 21 years, Samir K.N age 26 years and Muneer T.I. age30. Darshan of Kadanga village and Sadheek of Virajpet town are absconding.
It is reported that recently in an interaction meeting of public and department officials which was organized at Virajpet Municipality Hall, a resident of Perumbadi village alleged that a group of youths in Perumbadi area are doing illegal criminal activitiesafter consuming ganja, and requested the police department to curb this at the earliest. In this background, the police department took it seriously and started investigation and found that some of the youth of Perumbadi village were involved in the illegal activities by consuming drugs.01 kg 800 grams of ganja, four two-wheelers and one Maruti Omni vehicle without documents used for the crime were seized.
