The Kodagu Press Club has announced the winners of its annual journalism awards. The names were released by M.K. Adarsh, General Secretary of the Press Club.


- H.J. Rakesh received the Best Effective Reporting Award, instituted in memory of senior journalist K.B. Mahantesh, for his report titled “Will the Barrier of German Technology Costing Rs 7 Crore Be Completed?” published in Shakti newspaper.
- K.M. Ismail Kandakare was awarded the Best Humanitarian Reporting Award, established by Coovercolly Indresh and family in memory of B.V. Chandrashekhar and Pushpalatha, for his report “Sorutihudu Meenala Kogi Malige,” also published in Shakti.
- Anand Kodagu received the Best Environmental Reporting Award, instituted by M.N. Chandramohan in memory of his parents M. Narayan and N. Padmavati, for his piece “Dirty Meat Market for Walkers in the District Center!” published in Shakti.
Each award includes a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a commemorative plaque. The award ceremony will be held at Patrika Bhawan on June 8 at 12:00 noon, Â M.K. Adarsh confirmed.
