The selection process of talented sports persons for 2025-26 in Athletics and Hockey for Junior Sports Hostel at District Stadium will be held on January 16th for Madikeri taluk at General Thimayya District Stadium in Madikeri.
On January 17th for Somwarpet and Kushalanagar taluk at Kudige Government Sports School.
On January, 18 for Virajpet and Ponnampet taluk students at Ponnampet taluk mini stadium.
Those who want to be selected must be under 11 years of age as on
01-06-2025 (i.e. born after 01-06-2014) for the selection of sports school, admission will be given to only 5th class students only for 2025-26. Students who were interested in participating in the hockey must be 140 cm tall.

The release also added that athletes who are coming to participate in the selection must bring the confirmation letter of their current studies in 4th standard attested by the school headmaster.
It is mandatory to bring a medical certificate from a government doctor regarding their physical fitness. Athletes who come to participate in the selection must bring birth certificate and Aadhaar card. Food, accommodation and sports kit will be provided free of charge by the department to the athletes selected for the sports hostel. Assistant Director of Youth Empowerment and Sports Department also informed that no allowance will be given by the department to the participants who were participating in the selection program.
