Madeyanda Aarna Poovanna, a 16-year-old swimming prodigy from Madikeri, has brought pride to the nation by bagging a total of six medals at the Asian Open Schools Invitational Swimming Championships held in Bangkok from February 6 to 9. Representing India at the prestigious event, Aarna showcased exceptional talent and endurance, securing 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal across multiple swimming categories.
Aarna is the daughter of Mr. Madeyanda Poovanna (Appanna) and Mrs. Gayathri. Her achievements have sparked celebrations in her hometown, with congratulatory messages pouring in from local leaders, sports officials, and well-wishers.
