Kodagu District Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Ramarajan and Additional Superintendent of Police K. S. Sundar Raj recently conducted a meeting of district lorry, taxi, cargo vehicle owners and drivers at Kodagu district police office.
On the occasion, the police officials appealed to the owners and drivers to drive safely and to avoid rash driving so that accidents rate will automatically come down and to obey traffic rules and to cooperate fully with the police department.
Vehicles like lorries and pick-ups which carrying sand, gravel-stone should be covered with tarpaulin. If sand or gravel stone is being seen carried without tarpaulin a case will be registered and legal action will be taken on such vehicles and if the public send a picture and complaints then also the police department will take suitable action the officials informed. The heavy vehicles carrying timber should not be loaded with more than the prescribed load. Police officials also informed in the meeting that not to drive the vehicle too fast and recklessly and added that they should talk politely with the public and added that public can give information if motorists are found violating any traffic rules.
