  1. There was a time in Kodagu where most Teachers, Nurses, Government jobs, Foresters, Plantation Managers and Supervisors, Bus Owners, Bank employees and so on were from Kodagu (in addition to the disproportionate soldiers that served the Nation compared to our size).

It is time we youngsters revived this past practice of ours where staying on the estate and having a job in Kodagu, made a lot of economic and common sense!!

      • I don’t want to guess what prompted you to make the comment that you did Kiran Reddy. My message is self-explanatory and it relates to Kodavas and Kodava Bashikas (those who have chosen to follow the tenets of Kodavaame or the Kodava way of life). This matter is unrelated to any sense of insecurity. It is both reasonable and advantageous for us to seek employment and residence within Kodagu whenever opportunities arise.

Addressing your specific observation – Why kannadigas are so insecure???? – is a matter that you should address the Kannadigas and I am sure you will get a befitting reply.

Finally, when we go to Tamilnadu, Maharashtra, Bengal, Punjab or UP, it is generally the norm that one respects the culture and the way of life in these environments rather than going about showing disrespect. Many Reddys” have indeed bought properties in Kodagu and shown respect to local laws and customs. Those who show disrespect by opening resorts in landslide prone areas have faced the consequences of ruin. SHOW RESPECT!
