Cow killed by tiger

A cow was recently killed by a tiger in Bellur in the Hudikeri gram panchayat limits.

Thithimathi Wildlife Division Deputy Conservator of Forests Gopal, and Ponnampet Range Forest Officer Shankar led a team which has placed two cages to capture the tiger.

Cameras have been installed to monitor the tiger’s movements. Additional rapid forest task forces and elephant teams would be deployed from Monday if the tiger’s movements are traced, an official said. Farmers and plantation workers have been asked to stay alert.
