Vachan Ashok and Bipin Ravi selected for Indian junior Hockey team

Hockey India on recently announced the Indian junior team that will go on a tour of Europe for ten days from May 20 and Vachan Ashok of Somavarpet and Bipin Ravi of Ponnampet have been selected. 

Both the players joined a sports school in Ponnampet and after completing their 10th standard PUC and presently both of them doing graduation in Bangalore. It is also special that these two players who have been in Karnataka state team and played together in all the tournaments.

Vachan, son of Ashok and Sujini, President of Dolphins Sports Club of Somwarpet, developed interest in hockey from his childhood and was selected for a sports school in Ponnampet in the eighth standard. Later he joined DYSS Sports Hostel in Bangalore for PUC and now pursuing his final degree at Mahaveer Jain College, Bangalore. 

Bipin, son of  Ravi and Sunanda from Billavara of Ponnampet. He was earlier selected for junior team camp last year as well. But this year he has been selected for the Indian junior team.

The players are currently undergoing training at Sai Kendra in Kengeri, Bengaluru. The Indian team will start the first match against Belgium on May 20. Then on the 22nd, they will play against the club team of the Netherlands and on the 28th and 29th against the German team.
