Yasalur Uday Kumar, a spiritual thinker speaking after inauguration of the
Sri Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti program held at Gandhi Bhavan, Madikeri recently informed Adi Shankaracharya was born in a simple family on the banks of the Purna river in Kerala’s Kalady and he is called a Dravidian child in Soundriya Lahari. The programme was held in association with the District Administration, Kodagu Zilla Panchayat, Kannada and Culture Department.
Shankaracharya said in Soundriya Lahari that he bows down to the beautiful Goddesses of Tripura Sundari with devotion, wearing a red garland, wearing a golden revolution with red eyes and red lips.
There are three Ranganathas, Adi Ranga, Madhya Ranga, and Antaranga. Kaveri is said to be the mother who gives fruit and light. Fruit means rice. In the entire Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, where river Kaveri flows the farmers grow paddy in those regions and finally it reaches the ocean. He said that those who eat that rice grown on these regions will have natural strength.
Journalist B.G. Ananthashayana speaking on the occasion and said that if the teachings of Shankaracharya are implemented in our life, then will have a meaningful life.
Speaking on the occasion Additional Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar said that students should also engage in extracurricular activities and spirituality along with classes. Adi Shankaracharya was a very famous philosopher who lived in the 8th century and he was from the Kerala region.
