Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao speaking to the media persons recently clarified that the Congress had no role in the cases filed against the family members of HD Deve Gowda, a former prime minister and JD(S) supremo.

Clarifying that homo sexuality is no longer an offence, the minister said it was allegations of forced homo sexuality that had led to an investigation against Suraj Revanna as he is accused of an unnatural offence, he added.

Rao rubbished allegations of the Congress intending to destroy Gowda’s family to be successful in the Channapattana by-election, which was necessitated after HD Kumaraswamy won the Lok Sabha election in Mandya and became a minister in the central cabinet.

In politics, one contests in an election to win it. Instead of passing baseless comments, one should face the opponent in the election fray, Rao said.
