POWER WITHIN.
A book by this very title by Mr R Balasubramaniam, is just out. It’s about Narendra Damodardas Modi. As you read this book, you realise that Modi’s persona exemplifies this shloka completely.
“ishavasyamidamsarvam
yatkinchajagatyaamjagat
tenatyaktenabhunjita,
ma gridhahkasyasviddhanam”.
Translated simply:
“It pervades all that moves, and also all that does not move.
Who does all this belong to?
therefore, let go and rejoice!”
(This is from ishavasyaupanishad in yajurveda)
HUMAN BODY IS BIOLOGICAL
AATMA IS NON-BIOLOGICAL.
The man millions love and adore. Yet a few vociferous opponents love to hate. A once in a lifetime leader to lead a country. A man like him is seldom born in every generation. And when blessed with such a leader, some adore him, some worship him and opponents destroy themselves hating him.
Almost ever since he made the statement that “he is convinced that he was sent by god”. the opposition and all his detractors, have been joking and ridiculing him as “Non biologically born Prime Minister”. In an interview to News 18, PM Modi said “until my mother was alive, I used to think I was born biologically. After her demise, when I look at my experiences, I am convinced that I was sent by God. This strength is not from my body. It has been given to me by God. That’s why God also gave me the ability, strength, pure heartedness, and also the inspiration to do this. I’m nothing but an instrument that God has sent.”
THEN WHY, JUST WHY DOES THIS PERFECT HINDUISTIC STATEMENT OF OUR PRIMER MINISTER, which is exactly what the verse I just quoted above, from Yajur Veda, Ishavasya Upanishad embodies, disturb other Hindus in other parties? Then why does it sound, so very preposterous to them? Why does it sound, so funny and laughable? It is because, we Hindus have in our own land been methodically, meticulously and gradually distanced from all that our ancestors believed in and passed on from generation to generation to us.
This was a Hindu nation or the ‘Bharata Varsha during the 13th and 14th century’. But sadly, it has come a long way since 15 August,1947. On that day, it was not the Indians who attained independence, it was only independence to rule India at the behest of the Britishers, that our leaders had achieved. To put it plainly in Anand Ranganathan’s own words, we became and remained eighth-class citizens and victims of state-sanctioned apartheid since that day. To list out just a few injustices meted out to Hindus of this land since 15 August 1947:
State control of Hindu Temples. We just saw Tirupathi Laddu desecrated by the govt that was in power, if only to make profits with low costing ghee, in the making of this Laddu, even if it destroyed the sacredness of the prasadam.
The treatment meted out to Kashmiri Hindus in their own land, on 19th January, 1990, which resulted in overnight exodus of all of them from Kashmir.Again, to quote Anand Ranganathan “Kashmiri Hindus are the Jews, but unfortunately, India is not Israel. They call Kashmir the Switzerland of the East. Wrong. It is the Srebrenica of the East. And it will remain so till such time every Kashmiri Hindu is returned home”.
The Waqf Act, 1995.
Due to this, governments- both centre and state have usurped hundreds of thousands of acres of temple land and are responsible for more than 100,000 temples losing lacs of crores in rental income. But there is no such act for Hindus, Sikhs and Christians.
The RTE Act. The Right to Education Act. Though noble and lofty in its aim, targets the Hindu system of education. Every Hindu school is expected to allot 25% of its seats for economically weaker sections of the society, the same is not expected of any other schools run by other religions. In Maharashtra alone in the hindavi swaraj, (the Hindu Heartland) 7000 such schools were shut down for not completely complying with this condition.
AHAM BRAHMASMI.
Be it as it may, how does this explain, what our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji said and people like Jairam Ramesh and Supriya Shrinate make fun of in every statement/ tweet they put out, in public domain?
Bharat had an education system, that centered on making each individual as powerful as the god who created him. The guru in the Gurukul concentrated on, all round development of an individual, while mastering the basics in the Four Vedas and their Upanishads. The idea was to instil inquisitiveness in each individual and make him a seeker. Not to cram words and sentences into human brains to make him a clerk. Needless to say, these Sanatan texts, that were thousands of years old contained concepts such as, Mathematics (Geometric theorems, Pythagoras theorem being just one of them), Buoyancy, Gravity,Ayurveda, Yoga, Space and Time, Aircrafts, Atomic structure of substances, in them. These Gurus mastered the art of making each individual understand the aspects of ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ or ‘So Ham’ and put them on the path of a seeking.
A serious practicing Sanatani, like our Shri Modiji, whom we have seen fasting for ten days during every Navratri, this past decade. He goes and spends whole 24 hours, sitting cross legged and meditating in remote caves. And he seriously pursues Sanatana way of life, seeking a higher self and oneness with his creator. We all witnessed the ‘vruta’, he undertook, travelling from Kanyakumari to Ayodhya, for the opening ceremony and installation of Shri Ram Lalla’s idol. He has practiced and pursued these rigorous religious disciplines ever since he was 16 years old and it is but natural for him to feel the oneness, he feels with the god who created him and the purpose he views before him, for which he was created.
But, how does one explain the taste of Sugar to someone who has never tasted Sugar or anything sweet? Or explain the form and size of an elephant to a man who was born blind?
I would like to conclude saying, our Pradan Mantri, is truly a pradan sevak as he calls himself. He has styled himself after Rajarshi Shri Janaka Maharaj of Videha, who ruled it from Mithila nagari.
Or king Shibi, the king of Shibistan, now known as Sehwan in Pakistan.
To understand our Prime Minister, we need to read the story of King Shibi.
The devas once decided to test the reputation of Shibi. To test, Agni Deva, assumed the form of a dove and sought refuge in the lap of the king, seeking protection from a pursuing kite. The king’s priest told him that it was his sworn duty to protect the life of the dove, which had come seeking his protection.
A little later Indra Deva, assuming the form of a kite, flew into the scene, asking Shibi to offer him the dove that it had been chasing and was rightfully his.
King Shibi refused to give up the dove that had sought his protection and instead, countered that he would be willing to offer some other flesh as a substitute.
According to the legend, the kite (Indra) instructed King Shibi that the flesh he would then need to offer to save the dove, must be cut from his own right thigh and be of equal weight to that of the dove.
Shibi agreed and started to offer pieces of his flesh and placed them on a scale against the dove, but found that the bird weighed more than all the flesh he sacrificed. Finally, the king himself sat upon the scale. Then the two devas, assumed their original forms and hailed him, and blessed him to continue to rule justly and selflessly.
We the people of India, born and alive at this part of our Bharata varsha’s history, are lucky to view this phenomenon, called Shri Modiji, from such close quarters. If we love him, let us cherish his love for us and our nation. Let the Critics do their bidding.
Jai Hind.
