Dr. Mantar Gowda, MLA from Madikeri Assembly constituency, speaking after inaugurating a program called “Avensis 2025” on the occasion of the completion of 10 years of Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences (Kodagu District Hospital, Madikeri) said that soon the medical college will offer treatment for heart disease. MLA also said that he is committed to upgrading the Kodagu District Hospital to a well-equipped hospital.
The health checkup camps which are conducted by the government is a very important program for the learning of medical students and he called on the public to also take advantage of it.
Speaking on the occasion, Thennira Myna, a chief guest and also Dasara Cultural Committee Convener congratulated the medical college administration, teaching and non-teaching staff for conducting a meaningful program to raise awareness about the health of the people.
Dr. Lokesh, Kodagu Medical College Director, informed that this is the first time a special program has been organized in the district and that more useful programs related to health will be organized in the future. HOD Dr. Purushottam speaking on the occasion said that MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda is providing full support to the medical college and the institution is grateful for that.
Hospital Head Dr. Vishal, Hoddur Gram Panchayat President H.A. Hans, Dr. Somashekar, Dr. Manjunath, Executive Officer Rohini, Former City Council Member K.G. Peter were present on the stage. Puliyanda Jagadish, Prabhu Rai, V.G. Mohan, Chandrashekar, College, teaching and non-teaching staff, students participated in the program.
