Tiger attack… two cows killed

In an incident at Devanur-Sulugodu village of Ponnampet taluk of South Kodagu in which two cows were killed by a tiger attack.

The tiger killed and partially ate two cows belonging to Muddiyada Dinu, a farmer of Sulugodu village. Forest officials visited the spot and conducted inspection. The frightened villagers and the locals have demanded that the forest department should immediately take action to capture the tiger.

Wildlife Conservation Board member Mariyanda Sanket Poovaiah visited the site and held consultation with the villagers.  Speaking on the occasion Sanket Poovaiah informed that action will be taken to capture the tiger or drive it away to the forest. He also said that he had discussed with Chief Minister’s Legal Adviser and Virajpet MLA A.S. Ponnanna about compensating the owners of the cows that had died.
