Lately, everyone seems crazy about creating WhatsApp groups just to gather more members. Many of these groups are pretty much the same, and it’s quite confusing and pointless. I fail to understand this craze for launching Groups with similar NAMES, OBJECTIVES & AGENDAS.
Some admins take risks by sharing group invites through links in other groups to grow fast. It’s like inviting strangers into your home without knowing anything about them. This actually could put the ADMINS into serious legal trouble. This also leads to arguments, as people with different views and personalities clash instead of having meaningful discussions. Remember, arguments try to prove someone wrong, while debates aim to find out what’s wrong. Knowing this can help reduce unnecessary conflicts.
A smarter way is for ADMINS to add members one by one, making sure they have something in common. This way, strict rules aren’t needed, and everyone gets along better.
Unfortunately, some ADMINS want to control everything, making the group a place where only their opinions matter. This defeats the very purpose of a group chat, which should be about sharing ideas and information. If an ADMIN just wants to broadcast information, it’s better to send individual messages.
Adding people to groups without asking first is rude and inconsiderate. It’s like forcing someone into an uncomfortable situation where they either have to endure it or leave awkwardly. When unknown people are added or join through links shared then ADMINS also have to ensure carefully that posts and forwards from the group doesn’t get shared in other groups which is very dicey situation. All this can be avoided if known people are added carefully.
In conclusion, while the digital world offers great ways to connect, we must be careful and respectful online. Creating WhatsApp groups should be about fostering meaningful discussions, not just adding people for the sake of it and aiming at QUANTITY OVER QUALITY.
Group integrity can only be safeguarded by choosing known people and not otherwise.
