Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya has instructed all concerned to make necessary preparations on the occasion of the All India 87th Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, for which the ‘Kannada Jyothi Rathayatra’ will travel in various places in five taluks of Kodagu district.
She was speaking after presiding over a preliminary meeting held at DC office hall. Additional Deputy Commissioner informed that the Kannada Rath Yatra will arrive at Sampaje on November 10th in the morning and everyone should welcome it together. Then it will come district headquarters Madikeri. Then it will go to Ponnampet. Later on, November 11, from Ponnampet via Polibetta-Siddapura route will reach Kushalanagar and a Kannada singing program will be held on the occasion, subsequently it will proceed to Somwarpet route to Hassan informed R. Aishwarya.
District and taluk level officials, CMC, municipality, town panchayat, village panchayat including local organizations, office bearers of Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Stree Shakthi groups, school and college students are expected to welcome the ‘Kannada Jyothi Ratayathara.
At least two art troupes should be present to invite Rathayatra in different locations informed ADC R. Aishwarya.
Aishwarya directed that Tehsildars, TPEO’s and officials of local organizations should hold a meeting at their level and work for the success of the program.
MP Keshav Kamath, Kannada Sahitya Parishad district president speaking on the occasion requested everyone to participate and cooperate to make the program a success. He also said that while going from Madikeri to Murnadu-Virajpet-Gonikoppa-Ponnampet a cultural program will be held on the occasion.
He also said that five thousand people will participate in Kannada singing program in Kushalanagar and added that Kannada songs will be sung, including Naad Geeta. Keshav Kamath appealed to all levels of officers, staff, school and college students, women’s organizations to participate.
Former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishad TP Ramesh speaking on the occasion informed that said that Kannada Rath Yatra should be well received and it should be celebrated in a grand manner.
Honorary Secretary of Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Muneer Ahmed requested that district administration, taluk administration along with city council members, local organizations members, school and college students should all work together to make the program a success and healso appealed for necessary cooperation from various academies for organizing cultural programs.
