The threat of wild elephants in Kodagu is increasing day by day and it has exceeded the limit and the school going students the farmers, auto drivers, plantation workers are worried more. Recently, wild elephants were spotted near Arekadu School in Madikeri taluk and all were worried about the safety of students and nearby residents.
The locals immediately complained and informed to the forest department. The forest personnel reached the spot and conducted an operation to send back wild elphants to the  forest. Later, as a precautionary measure, the forest department vehicle dropped school students safely to their homes. The local villagers have appreciated the work of the forest department staff who came to help the students and as well as responding to their woes so quickly.
