KPCC spokesperson M Lakshmana addressing reporters at Madikeri recentlyalleged that the centre is treating Karnataka in a step motherly manner.
He said that though Karnataka stands second in the country in tax collection, the share given by the centre to the state is not proportionate.
He said that for every Rs 100 tax collected and submitted by the centre, only 13 paise share is given by the centre. This is the height of injustice,Lakshmana lamented. He also released the statistics during the occasion.
Considering the size of the union budget, the Centre should have given Rs one lakh crore tax share to the state, Lakshamana said and added that the debt by the Centre was Rs 53.11 lakh crore in 2014 but has now reached Rs 173 lakh crore.
He also alleged that the Centre has waived off Rs 20.50 lakh crore loans by capitalists. The state has incurred a loss of Rs 35,000 crore due to the drought as per the experts from the Centre. However, the Centre has still not released the amount.
Meanwhile, Lakshmana accused some forces of using Mandya as the laboratory of communalism.

Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Kota Srinivas Poojary speaking during the installation ceremony of the Kodagu district IUP president and district special executive committee meeting of the party recently said that the upcoming elections will feature a battle between Hanuman and Tipu bhakts
The MLC said that earlier terrorists would talk of dividing the Nation and added that now, a Member of the Parliament from Congress D K Suresh has spoken such a thing. I initially thought CM Siddaramaiah would take him to task but he has taken a soft stand on Suresh, he added.
Poojary said that the CM had told that he will accept the caste census by the backward classes’ commission headed by H Kantharaj. However, he extended the tenure of the commission overnight.
He said even Siddaramaiah, who had stated that he would not wear ’tilak’ and that Sri Rama is an imaginary person, has now raised the Jai Shree Ram’ slogan. This is the achievement of PM Narendra Modi, Kota added. Speaking to the reporters earlier, Poojary said “D K Suresh’s statement reflects the Congress culture. While Rahul Gandhi is saying “Bharat Jodo’, his party leaders are up to dividing the Nation. Congress never joins. Its policy is to divide,” he added.
