The newly constructed community hall of the Cherala Gowda community at Chettalli was inaugurated with much fanfare.
The hall, a long-cherished dream of the community, was dedicated to the public by former Assembly Speaker K.G. Bopaiah. Built after 17 years of sustained effort and with contributions from donors, the structure stands as a symbol of unity and pride for the Gowda community in the Cherala region.
Members of the community attended the ceremony in traditional attire, highlighting their cultural heritage. The event also focused on passing on customs and values to the younger generation. In a notable gesture, around 80 married women from the community, who had moved away, were honoured in their native place.
Donors, supporters, land contributors, and contractors associated with the project were felicitated during the programme. Several prominent members of the community were recognised for their contributions.

Leaders Emphasise Unity and Cultural Preservation
MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda, who inaugurated the programme, said the Gowda community has contributed significantly across sectors. He noted that the construction of the community hall reflects the identity and aspirations of the community and expressed hope that it would benefit all sections of society.
