World Science Day was celebrated in Coorg Public School with great enthusiasm and active participation from students across all grades. The event aimed to promote scientific temper, creativity, and curiosity among young learners.
The day commenced with a special assembly presented by the students of Grade IV, focusing on the significance of science in everyday life and its role in shaping a sustainable future.
Following the assembly, a Science Model Competition was organized at various venues across the campus for the students to view.
In addition to the model displays, engaging hands-on activities such as Pottery and Thumb Printing were conducted in the New Building Quadrangle, open to students from Grades I to VII. These activities encouraged creativity and provided students with enjoyable, experiential learning opportunities.

Students also visited various laboratories and learning centres including the Math Lab, ATL Lab, Science Museum (Gijnasa), Physics Lab, Chemistry Lab, and Biology Lab. The lab visits gave students an enriching opportunity to observe experiments and scientific demonstrations firsthand.
A significant highlight of the day was the Inauguration of the New Computer Lab by Dr. M. Ramachandran, Principal, Coorg Public School & Pre-University College, Gonikoppal. The newly set-up computer lab, equipped with modern systems and advanced facilities, marks a major step towards integrating technology and innovation into the teaching-learning process. The inauguration was met with great excitement from both students and staff, who look forward to exploring the world of coding, programming, and digital learning.
The celebration of World Science Day was a resounding success. It not only showcased the talents and innovative ideas of students but also instilled a deeper appreciation for science and technology and their relevance in daily life.
