Inner Wheel District 318 President Shabari Kadidal lauded the five decades of remarkable social service rendered by the Madikeri Inner Wheel Club as a memorable contribution to society.
Speaking at the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Madikeri Inner Wheel Club held at the Kodava Samaja Hall, she said it is a matter of pride that the club has been actively serving the public for 50 years through numerous service projects. She emphasized that service attains real meaning when its benefits reach the people.
Dr. Jayalakshmi Patkar, founder of the Madikeri Inner Wheel Club, received special honors and said that completing 50 years is no easy task for any organization. She expressed pride that the club, founded in 1975 with 12 members, has grown fourfold to 46 members despite many challenges.
On this occasion, Club President Lalitha Raghavan was felicitated by District President Shabari Kadidal with a golden collar.
Former District President Purnima Ravi and several past presidents lit 50 lamps to mark the golden jubilee. The commemorative magazine Girishinga, edited by Shafali Rai, was released.
Golden Jubilee Committee President Latha Changappa, Executive Director Namita Rai, and Editor Shafali Rai were present on stage. The event included entertainment programs performed by the members.
President Lalitha Raghavan welcomed the gathering, Rashmi Praveen proposed the vote of thanks and Divya Muthanna compered the proceedings.
