The First Additional District and Sessions Court of Madikeri has sentenced the accused Vikas Jordania (35) who broke into a house where a single woman lived in Madikeri and robbed her of a gold necklace and ring, to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 15 thousand and 3 more months imprisonment, if Jordania defaults on the payment of fine.
It was earlier reported that the convicted person Vikas Jordania (35), a native of Rajasthan, who worked at Ibnii Resort, on 05-11-2023, he broke into a house where Sakamma Prabhakar lived alone, opposite to IDBI Bank, Madikeri town. He attacked her, causing injuries to her head, snatched a gold necklace and ring from her finger and fled. A case was registered under 397 IPC at Madikeri town Police Station and an investigation was conducted. Later he was arrested on 06-11-2023 and produced before the court.
Madikeri town Police Circle Inspector Anoop Madappa, Head Constables A.V. Kiran and D. H. Sumita and staff, who were investigating the case, conducted a thorough investigation into the case and submitted a charge sheet to the 1st Additional District and Sessions Court of Madikeri on 02-01-2024.
Judge G. Prashanthi, who conducted the hearing of the case, sentenced the accused Vikas Jordani to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of 15 thousand on 09-04-2025 after the charges were proven.
