MP Wodeyar informs about other development works
Mysore-Kodagu MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar speaking after performing the ground breaking ceremony for the work of scientifically disposing of waste stored in the solid waste disposal unit at Madikeri informed that several development works have been undertaken in Madikeri in Kodagu district under various grants from the Central Government and added that various projects are being implemented in support of the Prime Minister’s Developed India Scheme.
This project has been launched under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 (City) scheme. He said that the Central Government is providing funds.
People had requested that action be taken to dispose waste has been accumulated for many years. Yaduveer explained that the Central Government has sanctioned funds and launched this project after realising the problems faced by the people. Now this work has been started at a cost of about Rs 12.5 crore. Steps are being taken to dispose of the waste here at very soon. The MP said that the officials have been instructed to provide continuous information about this work.
MP also said that Various schemes of the central government have been implemented for the comprehensive development of Madikeri town, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations. Road potholes have been filled at a cost of about Rs 36 lakh. Grants have been provided under the National Disaster Management Fund. Yaduveer explained that steps will be taken to repair almost all the roads in the city.
Steps are also being taken to solve the drinking water problem in Kodagu. He said that a drinking water project has been launched in Madikeri town under the Amrut scheme at a cost of Rs 46 crore.
This project will be fully implemented in the next one year. MP also informed that all steps should be taken for the completion of this project at the earliest and informed concerned officals to submit reports to him constantly by reviewing it. Yaduveer said that officials have informed him that if this project is implemented, the drinking water problem of Madikeri will be completely solved.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a wish that all facilities should be provided to everyone in our country just as people in Western countries are getting. Accordingly, development works have been implemented in our Madikeri. The MP said that we are ready to implement development works everywhere in the constituency from time to time and complete them within the stipulated time frame.
He said that we are all committed in realizing the aspirations of the central BJP government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaign of a developed India.
