Sky Force is a cinematic masterpiece that brilliantly captured the spirit of patriotism, courage and sacrifice. The movie beautifully portrays the journey of a soldier who is willing to sacrifice everything- his life, his family and his personal desires for the love of his nation. It makes one feel the emotions.
It is an amazing movie being a perfect tribute to the armed forces and their families for the sacrifice to the great nation. The emotional depth of the story and its ability to evoke patriotism while showcasing the sacrifices made by military personnel and their families. The makers of the war film “Sky Force” should be congratulated for immortalising the heroism of Kodagu born squadron leader Ajjamada Bopaiah Devayya the only Indian Air force Officer to be awarded the Maha Vir Chakra posthumously. The people of Kodagu take immense pride in their soldiers from their homeland, which has a high ratio of population to people in defense services.
Though the movie doesn’t mention the fact that Squadron Leader hailed from Kodagu, instead Devayya’s character Is fictionalised as Krishna Vijaya played by Veer Pahariya and Sara Ali Khan as Geeta Vijaya. One should bear in mind that Sky Force is not a biopic on Squadron Leader Devayya but a,fictionalised account of the Indian Air forces air strikes on the Sargodha Airbase in Pakistan during 1965 war.
There cannot be a greater honour for the martyrs. The respect shown to his wife and daughters by the cast and crew of the movie must have given them some solace. Every soldier and his family thrive on the respect given to them by the citizens of the nation that they serve….and this gesture of theirs was appropriate. I am sure the family must have got the much-needed closure. This movie and Squadron Leader Devayya’s life is a matter of great pride of all of us Kodavas. May his soul have found peace.
The war hero of the 1965 India- Pakistan were the Indian Air force Ajjamada Bopaiah Devayya’s display of unmatched bravery fills audiences’ hearts with patriotism and respect to the war Hero.
Yes, there could have been a Kodava and Kodagu touch on screen, but that doesn’t make the movie any lesser in terms of role play, story line, actions and director Abhishek, Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. Akshay Kumar as Group Captain Ajay Ahuja is incomparable. Veer Pahariya has done justice to role of Ajjamada Bopaiah Devayya. Indeed, a real tribute to the legend.
