Kodagu District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Sathish Kumar speaking during a work- shop organised for the media representatives informed that more than 48 national health programs are being conducted by the Health and Family Welfare Department, and everyone needs to be aware of them.
The programme was organised in association with district administration, Zilla Panchayat (ZP) and Health department recently. Dr Satish Kumar further said that the health department had been taking good care about pregnant women before and after delivery at government hospitals.
Dr Satish Kumar also informed that from January to the end of November, 4015 cases of dog bites, 307 cases of snake bites, 2292 cases of diarrhea, 846 cases of typhoid, 274 cases of dengue, 3 cases of cholera, 3 cases of malaria, and 13 cases of fever have been reported in the district.
No maternal death occurred in the district till the end of November. But he informed that one mother died in the month of December.
More awareness is being created in 53 schools and 30 colleges from April to November about make effects of tobacco.
The role of media is very important in creating more awareness during the situation of Covid and other infectious diseases. In this regard, it is a commendable work to work hand in hand with the Department of Health and Family Welfare in creating more awareness. Dr. Satish Kumar said that efforts are being made to provide health services as per the wish of the government.
District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Anand said that fertility treatment is being arranged to maintain family planning. He said that the participation of men is essential in that regard and added that out of 18 targets, 10 have undergone surgery in the current year and an incentive Rs 1100 for men undergoing vasectomy surgery are being given by the government.
He warned that scanning centers must be registered and if registration is not done, they will face severe punishment and also informed that sudden visits to scanning centers once in three months and information will be collected, he said.
More than 200 private health institutions are registered in the district and in case of non-registration, the nearest can complain he informed.
More awareness is being created about HIV through intimate counselling and added that 11 ICTC centres are functioning in the district.
District RCH Officer Dr. Madhusudan spoke about Janani Suraksha Yojana, Janani Shishu Suraksha Program, Malnourished Child Care Centre, Pradhan Mantri Safe Motherhood Yojana, Pneumonia Prevention, Social Awareness, Cleanliness Program, Wipes, National Child Health Program, National Child Health Program (Sneha). Clinic), National Diarrhea Control.
District Survey Officer Dr. Srinivas spoke about NPNCD, Integrated Disease Surveillance Scheme, National Insect Borne Disease Control, National Iodine Deficiency Disease Control, Rabies Control, Climate Change and Human Health National Programme, Health and Wellness Centre, NPNCD Programme, NPPC Programme, NPHCE Programme.
He also gave information about various programs regarding tobacco control in the country.
District Health Education Officer Shanti gave information about the purpose of the program. Devaraju, Palaksha, Manjula, Jyoti, Sunitha of Information Department were also present on the occasion.
