Petty issue…man shot dead

In a tragic incident at Vanachalu village in Madikeri taluk, Machayya (55), a resident of Vanachalu village shot at his younger brother Appanna (53) following a quarrel on a petty dispute. Machayya fled from the scene with the weapon.

Machayya was upset that he wasn’t served more alcohol. In a fit of rage, he grabbed Appanna’s gun and shot at him. Appanna sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. Subsequently the Police have been successful in arresting the accused. It is reported that the accused was on the Vanachalu road with the gun when he was arrested.

A case has been registered at the Madikeri Rural Police Station.
