St. Joseph’s Team wins…Kodagu Vidyalaya runners up

The 10 edition of Dr Akhil Kuttappa and Aswath Aiyappa memorial cricket tournament conducted at Gen Thimayya stadium in Madikeri for the past one week concluded recently. St Joseph’s team emerged victorious defeating Kodagu Vidyalaya team by a margin of just 7 runs.

Hardik of St Joseph’s was declared as Man of the Match. Naman was declared as the best bowler of the tournament and Nilesh of Kodagu Vidyalaya was declared as the best all rounder and Hardik of St Joseph’s was declared as the player of the tournament.

Speaking after the prize distribution ceremony former Coffee Board Vice President and coffee planter Bose Mandanna said that the tournament has been conducted successfully for 10 years and it should be continued. Raghu Madappa, father of Akhil and Ashwath speaking on the occasion said that it would be difficult of conduct the tournament further but his support will be there for the conduct of the tournament for the next 25 years. B G Anathashyana of Shakti News Paper and former President of MUDA Muneer Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.

KSCA coach Ren Trevor Dias, K P Uthappa, Shanta Belliappa, P Ravi, Lala Poonacha, Traffic ASI Nanda, Yaladalu Harish, Damodar, Nanda Shetty, E L Suresh and others were present.
