Kodagu district in-charge minister N S Bosaraju speaking on the occasion of 69th Kannada Rajyotsava day opined that Kannada Rajyotsava should be a daily festival for all of us.
69th Kannada Rajyotsava celebration was held at the historical fort premises of Madikeri. After hoisting the tricolour N S Bosaraju gave a message that thousands of Kannadigas have worked hard day and night for administrative and emotional unity and now it is necessary to remember all such great spirits.
Speaking further he said that at this point in the 21st century, the Kannada language has retained its identity with modernity. This soil, this language has elegance, beauty, so we all should join the work of upholding the regional culture, he added.
The government has implemented many programs to spread Kannada language and culture. It has been 50 years since Mysore State was renamed as ‘Karnataka’. On this auspicious occasion, Karnataka became known, under the name of ‘Usiragali Kannada’, the whole year is dedicated to Karnataka history, art, literature, culture and national language and programs were organized to create awareness of Kannada-Kannadigas-Karnataka among the youth.
He said that the youth should adopt Kannada in their lives as real inheritors of our rich heritage by developing a taste for Kannada language, literature, culture and art.
The Minister also informed that Chief Minister (CM) Siddaramaiah-led government is completing a year and a half since coming to power and has won the hearts of all the people by implementing many ‘guarantee schemes’.
Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda presided over the ceremony. Guarantee Projects Implementation Committee District President Dharmaja Uthappa, ZP CEO Anand Prakash Meena, Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya, Assistant Commissioner Vinayak Narwade, DySP Mahesh Kumar, Madikeri Urban Development Authority Chairman Rajesh Yallappa, School Education Department Deputy Director C. Rangadhamappa, Tashildar Praveen Kumar, Field Education Officer Dr. BC Doddegowda, district and taluk level officials of various departments and others were present on the occasion.
Minister N. S. Bhosaraju received the salute from the attractive impressive parade from 20 teams led by Inspector Chennanayak, the District Armed Forces, Civil Police, Home Guards, Forest department, FMC College, Kodagu Vidyalaya, General Thimmaiah School, St Joseph’s NCC team, Rajeshwari High School, Blossom School’s Scouts, PM- Shree Kendriya Vidyalaya, General Thimayya School, St Michael’s Kannada Medium School’s Seva Dal, and others marched gracefully, accompanied by the back- ground music from the Police Band led by ASI M Siddesh, and team which attracted the audience.
