Man held for dashing car on traffic police

The accused, Nazir (27), a resident of Nandavarakote of Munnuru village, Bantwal in Dakshina Kannada, who rammed his car into traffic police constable A G Sanju at General Thimayya Circle recently, has been arrested.

It is reported that the accused, after hitting the divider, had stopped his vehicle right in the middle of the road and when constable Sanju asked him to park the car on the side of the road, Nazir, hurling abuses at the constable, drove the car, hitting him. As a result, the latter sustained an injury on his knee. Nazir, who had been absconding, was later arrested. The car has been seized, the police informed. A case has been filed at the Madikeri Town Police Station.
