Teacher’s day celebration and best teacher award ceremony held

MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda, after presiding over the Teacher’s Day celebration and district best teacher award program held recently at Kodagu Gowda Samaja, Madikeri in association with District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, School Education and Literacy Department and the Karnataka State Teachers’ Welfare Fund said that Teachers are always in the hearts of children and they cannot be removed from children’s minds and opined that teachers are God in that view.

Speaking further he said that the teaching profession carries a lot of responsibility, in this direction, he called on everyone, including teachers, to work hard to take Kodagu district to a higher level in the field of education.

The government led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has increased the salary under the 7th revised pay scale. Also, in the school education and literacy department, many major changes have been made in relation to promotion. In that regard, the government has tried to change and improve in every sector, he added.

MLA expressed appreciation that Kodagu district teachers for making to stand fourth in SSLC exam results and ranked first in quality education.

Speaking on the occasion ZP CEO Anand Prakash Meena said that the role of teachers is important for the development of the nation. Teachers have a great influence and impact on children. In this regard, he requested that more emphasis should be given to qualitative education.

Additional District Commissioner (ADC) R.Aishwarya speaking on the occasion said that mass feeding and education are important for the development of the society and the profession of teachers who are giving education is of great value and she added that the profession of a teacher is to guide from ignorance to wisdom and from darkness to light. ADC also said that everyone must always remembers their Gurus and opined that teachers are the shapers of children’s lives.

Nilgiri M. Talwar, a retired professor of Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies, Mysore, speaking on the occasion said that students are the real asset of teachers, not only those who do great work are great, teachers who motivate them to do great work are also great personalities.

Speaking further he said that give students a valuable education and a strict lifestyle can make them successful in their life. In this regard, information and guidance and basic knowledge of life should be given to the children, he said.

Education is a powerful tool that can change the world and students should stop being slaves to mobile phones and focus on reading books by which they can generate good knowledge and become good citizens of our nation, he added.

On the same occasion, an award presentation ceremony was held tohonour the best teacher of the district.
