District in-charge Minister Boseraju visits flood-affected areas

Kodagu District in-charge Minister NS Boseraju recently visited the flood affected areas and consoled the victims.  He promised to take quick action for allotment of house sites to those who lost their houses.

The minister visited the care centre set up in Siddapur and heard the grievances of the victims and asked them whether the food, health care and other basic facilities have been provided in the centre.

The minister asked them whether if the government would relocate them from the flood-affected area to safer place they are ready to go there.Reacting to this the flood victims informed that since the victims are facing the flood situation every year during the rainy season and it is impossible to live there and it is very difficult to make a living. So, they requested to provide a site and relocate them.

On this occasion, the minister instructed the officials to provide TV for entertainment, health service and other basic facilities for victims and instructed tahsildar to pay attention to avoid any kind of trouble.

Later, he went to the flood-affected area of Karidogodu and talked with the victims there.

Speaking to media, the minister informed that an appropriate decision will be taken as soon as possible to provide accommodation to the victims.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister’s Legal Adviser and MLA of Virajpet Assembly Constituency A.S. Ponnanna said that the victims will be provided with all kinds of assistance including houses.

Some of the flood affected victims informed that every year they are facing threat of floods and it is impossible to lead life during rainy season and requested to relocate and provide accommodation.

Reassuring the victims in the care centre, the minister said that permanent relief will be provided soon.  The district in-charge minister said that 10 acres of land has been marked for the victims in Maldare, and an appropriate decision will be taken in this regard as soon as possible.

Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Venkat Raja, District Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Ramarajan, Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Anand Prakash Meena, Tashildar Ramachandra, District Implementation Committee for Guarantee Schemes Chairman Dharmaja Uthappa and others were present.

Chief Minister’s Legal Adviser and MLA of Virajpet Assembly Constituency A.S. Ponnanna later visited Gonikoppalu Keerhole, Balele, Hudikeri, T. Shettygeri, Srimangala care centres and held discussion people.
