Karnataka Home Minister (HM) G Parameshwara speaking to reporters after visiting the girl’s house in Kumbaragadige village of Somwarpet taluk said that the state government will set up a special court to for expeditious hearing of the Kodagu minor girl’s beheading case.
The HM said that special courts are being set up for quick disposal of cases pertaining to heinous crimes and added that similarly, in this case also a special court will be established and special public prosecutors will be appointed.
Replying to a question on the rise in the murder of girls in the state, Parameshwara said that people have been taking law into their hands.
He also said that these crimes appear to be committed at the spur of the moment and are not premeditated and investigation will bring out the truth.
He said that appropriate compensation will be disbursed to the affected families once the model code of conduct comes to an end.
