A. Suresh, Election Expenditure Observer, (EEO) has instructed the concerned officials to monitor and report on the campaign expenses of the candidates contesting in the Lok Sabha General Elections every day. He spoke at a meeting of the officers and staff of the expenditure monitoring team in the office hall of the Madikeri Deputy Commissioner recently.
The Election Expenditure Observer, directed that FST, SST, VST and other election teams appointed for the election work should work incoordination.
He also directed to follow the guidelines of the Election Commission strictly and to follow the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) perfectly. He further informed that if there is any kind of confusion, it should be brought to the attention of senior officials and resolved at the earliest.
EEO also said that checks should be intensified at check posts to ensure that undocumented money or other items are not transported. He said that the officers/staff appointed to manage the election expenses of the candidates for each assembly constituency should work in an organised manner and they have to monitor bank transactions and to keep an eye on money transfer daily.
Speaking on the occasion Kodagu Deputy Commssioner Dr Venkat Raja informed about the functioning of various teams and officials appointed for election work in Kodagu district.Â
DistrictSuperintendent of Police K. Ramarajan explained about the working activities of the inter-state border check posts attached to the district.Â
Assistant commissioner Vinayak Narwade gave more information regarding the Lok Sabha elections.Â
Later, Election Expenditure Observers visited District Election Expenditure Supervisor’s Cell and District Media Verification and in charge Committee Center and collected information.Â
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Varnith Negi, Additional Deputy Commssioner B N Veena, Virajpet Assembly Constituency Assistant Election Officer Narayanaswamy and other district level officials were present on this occasion.
