Kodagu Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Returning Officer Dr Venkat Raja speaking at a meeting regarding postal ballot at DC’s office hall informed that in connection with the Lok Sabha general elections, no one including people above 85 years of age and disabled should be deprived of voting.

DC requested people above 85 years of age and disabled people to go to polling stations, if possible, to exercise their vote and informed that those who are unable to go to the polling station to vote can exercise their right to vote by postal ballot.

The DC directed the concerned officials to take necessary action regarding this. Once an application for postal voting is made, there is no opportunity to go to the polling station to vote.
