Former MLA Appachu Ranjan criticises State Government for anti-farmer policy

Addressing a press conference recently in Madikeri former MLA Appachu Ranjan has criticized the Congress-led state government which is harassing farmers unnecessarily by implementing anti-farmer policies and added that poor farmers are facing anxiety due to this.

Speaking further he said that after the Congress government came to power it had made a circular that wildlife products should be returned otherwise a case would be registered.

Then it suggested that a list of trees on private lands should be given. Thereby, the government conspired to establish rights over the trees planted by the plantation owners.

And now recently circular have been issued that C and D lands should be returned to the government. Farmers have made their living by growing coffee and cardamom in this land for many years and added that the government is following anti-farmer policies by issuing circular.

Criticizing the state government which is involved in many scams and corruption, Ranjan demanded a comprehensive investigation into all the scams of the congress led state government.

Speaking on the occasion BJP district president Napanda Ravi Kalappa informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the BJP party membership campaign on September 1 with the motto “Strengthened BJP Vikasita Bharat”. BJP conducts its membership campaign every 5 years and described BJP as the only largest party in the world with 18 crore members.

Speaking further Ravi Kalappa said that according to the instructions of the party president J.P. Nadda, in this membership campaign, the aim is to increase the membership ratio from 30 to 40 percent. Kodagu district earlier had 60,000 BJP members, and now the aim is to make double.

Coordinators and co-convenors have already been appointed for the district and taluks for the membership drive in the district. This membership is free and one can become a member of BJP party by making a miss call to the mobile number 8800002024, Ravi Kalappa added.

District BJP General Secretary Mahesh Jaini Spokesperson Taluru Kishore Kumar and B K Arun Kumar were present in the press conference.
