Internal Probe Committee Constituted
The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has temporarily stayed the implementation of the final selection list for the recruitment of Veterinary Officers following allegations surrounding the recruitment process. The Commission has also constituted an internal investigation sub-committee to examine the matter.
The decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the Commission held on July 26, 2026, following a complaint lodged at the Vidhana Soudha Police Station on July 24, 2026, and reports that subsequently appeared across social media platforms and various news outlets.
In a statement, KPSC Secretary K. Jyothi said the Commission had taken the decisions with the objective of maintaining transparency, protecting public confidence, and ensuring a fair examination of the allegations.
Verification of Preliminary Information
The Commission has taken serious note of the complaint lodged at the Vidhana Soudha Police Station on July 24, 2026, media reports concerning the recruitment process, and the First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Police Department on July 25, 2026. These materials will form the basis of the internal inquiry.
Internal Investigation Sub-Committee Constituted: Considering the seriousness of the allegations, the Commission has constituted an internal investigation sub-committee under the chairmanship of a senior member of the Commission to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the recruitment process.
Report to be Submitted Within One Week : The sub-committee has been directed to thoroughly examine every stage of the recruitment process, scrutinize all relevant records and documents, and submit a detailed factual report to the Commission within one week.
Nodal Officers Appointed : To facilitate the investigation, the Commission has appointed the KPSC Secretary as the nodal officer to provide all administrative records and documents required by the inquiry committee. The Head of the Legal Department has been entrusted with providing the necessary legal assistance and guidance during the investigation.
Final Selection List Temporarily Stayed : Pending submission of the inquiry committee’s report, the Commission has decided to keep in abeyance the implementation of the final selection list for Veterinary Officers, which was published on July 17, 2026.
The Commission reiterated its commitment to ensuring transparency, fairness and integrity in the recruitment process. Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings and recommendations of the internal investigation committee, Secretary K. Jyothi stated.
