A newborn baby girl was found abandoned in a coffee plantation in Betri village near Virajpet.
The infant was rescued by Child Protection Unit officials and admitted to Madikeri District Hospital, where she is receiving treatment in the neonatal emergency unit.
Police have registered a case and launched efforts to trace the parents.
