Rotary Madikeri organised a cervical cancer vaccination drive for students at the Moornadu Education Trust Educational Institution.
A total of 13 students received the HPV vaccine during the programme. Gynaecologist Dr. Sumangali highlighted the growing prevalence of cervical cancer and stressed the importance of vaccination for children aged 9 to 14.

Rotary officials noted that 51 students were vaccinated last year, and although 250 students were targeted this year, only 13 opted for vaccination during the drive, with others expected to receive it through government programmes.
An awareness session on cervical cancer and HPV vaccination was also conducted prior to the vaccination drive.
Rotary President Lalitha Raghavan, Community Service Director Suday Nanaiah, and other members, along with teachers, parents, and students, were present.
