A 22-year-old post graduate student from Tamil Nadu drowned in the backwaters of Harangi Reservoir near Heruru in Kodagu district.
The deceased, Sudarshan, was studying at a college in Bengaluru and had visited Kodagu with his college group on a tour. While observing the backwaters, he accidentally slipped and fell into the reservoir. Despite efforts, he could not be rescued.
Police from Suntikoppa Police Station registered a case, and the body was retrieved with the help of local divers.
