The district-level agricultural statistics and 11th Agricultural Census Coordination Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Kodagu Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja at his office in Madikeri.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to submit the crop area readjustment report for the summer season of 2024-25, ensure verification of crop survey data, and provide accurate information for the third phase of the 11th Agricultural Census.
District Statistical Officer D. Narayana informed that crop area readjustment work has been completed online after village- and hobli-wise verification. He said the district report has been finalised with confirmation from taluk-level officers and submitted to the central office.
Out of 525 villages covered under the 2025-26 monsoon crop survey, 102 villages were selected for the one per cent Sakalam survey, which has been completed in coordination with the Statistical, Agriculture and Horticulture Departments. Training for the monsoon survey has also been completed, and fieldwork will conclude by the end of January.
He added that 26 villages selected for the third phase of the 11th Agricultural Census have completed fieldwork, covering 558 tenants cultivating 2,794 hectares. He also reported that 299 farmers benefited under PM-Kisan, 169 received soil health cards and 349 were issued Kisan Credit Cards.
Under the Karnataka Raitha Suraksha and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for 2025-26, 476 crop harvesting trials were allocated, of which 250 have been completed and the remaining will be concluded by the end of December.
Assistant Commissioner Nitin Chakki, Joint Director of Agriculture Chandrashekhar, Assistant Director of Horticulture Muthappa and Assistant Statistical Officers Venkatesh and B.M. Ganavi were present.
