In the backdrop of the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival, a meeting was held at the Kodagu District Police Office to discuss various issues, including the control of noise pollution during the installation and immersion of Ganesh idols, the use of flex banners and their proper disposal.

The meeting, chaired by Kodagu District Superintendent of Police R.N. Bindumani, was attended by police officers, officials from concerned departments, vendors and organisers associated with Ganeshotsava celebrations.

The meeting discussed the need to take necessary precautionary measures to control noise pollution during the installation and immersion of Ganesh idols and to ensure compliance with rules governing the use of loudspeakers.

Instructions were also issued to officers and vendors to ensure that flex banners used during Ganeshotsava celebrations are collected and disposed of properly instead of being discarded indiscriminately after the programmes.

SP R.N. Bindumani appealed to everyone to strictly follow the rules and cooperate with the Police Department in the interest of public peace, law and order and environmental protection during the festival.
