A 45-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter died by suicide after jumping into a lake at Talakaveri village near Bhagamandala recently.
The deceased have been identified as Prema (45) and her daughter Priyanka (14). According to preliminary information, the mother and daughter had an argument at home, following which Priyanka reportedly left saying she would jump into the lake. Prema followed her, and both are said to have entered the water.
Local residents attempted to rescue them but were unsuccessful. Fire and Emergency Services personnel later recovered their bodies. The incident occurred within the limits of Bhagamandala Police Station.
