The Lions Club of Madikeri observed Kargil Vijay Diwas with reverence by paying floral tributes to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation at the Madikeri War Memorial.
Speaking on the occasion, Lions Club President Mohan Kumar L. Matanadi said the unparalleled courage, valour and patriotism displayed by the Indian Armed Forces will always remain a source of inspiration. He noted that the sacrifice of the Kargil heroes would continue to motivate future generations to uphold the ideals of national unity, selfless service and patriotism.
Lions Club member Bollappa K.A. highlighted the historical significance of the Kargil War, the challenges faced by the Indian Army during the conflict, and the extraordinary courage, determination and resilience demonstrated by the soldiers in defending the nation’s sovereignty.
Among those present were Club Secretary Madhukar K., Treasurer Naveen Ambekal, Directors J.V. Koti and Bollappa, Zone Presidents Lion Madan Madaiah, Damodar K.K., Ravi N.B., J.V. Koti, Nachappa M.K., Santosh Anvekar, Satish Rai P.K., Nagendra M.P., Dinesh Rao A.K., Geetha Madhukar, Pratima Ravi, Jaysheel Prakash, and several other club members, who paid heartfelt tributes to the martyrs.
