The Sixth Annual Gathering of the Kiggatnad Kodava Sangha (Otthorme Koota) was held at the Haradasa Appaneravanda Appachakavi Hall of the Bangalore Kodava Samaja.
Virajpet MLA A.S. Ponnanna attended the function as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Ponnanna called upon every member to contribute towards the continued growth and progress of the Kaggatnad Kodava Sangha.
He said the organisation could achieve greater heights only through the active participation and collective efforts of all members of the Sangha and the wider Kodava community.
The MLA stressed the importance of preserving and passing on Kodava literature, culture, traditions and rituals to future generations. “In today’s rapidly changing world, it has become essential to educate the younger generation about our unique cultural heritage and traditional practices. Gatherings such as these provide an excellent platform for interaction, exchange of ideas and strengthening community bonds,” he said.
Among those present were IRS Deputy Director and Enforcement Directorate Officer Kottangada Dr. Pemmaiah, Assistant Commissioner of Customs and GST Chotteyandamada Satish, Kodava Samaja President Chiriyapanda Suresh Nanjappa, Kiggatnad Kodava Sangha President Mandachanda Suresh Poonacha, Vice-President Teetheera Roshan Appachu, Honorary Secretary Mallengada Madhu Kushalappa, Joint Secretary Guddamada Sada Thammaiah, Treasurer Machimada Kushalappa, Joint Treasurer Sharath Kushalappa, members of the Sangha, Kodavas residing in Bengaluru and several prominent personalities.
