The Energy Department has commenced door-to-door verification of beneficiaries under the Griha Jyothi Scheme, one of the State Government’s five guarantee schemes, to re-assess the eligibility of beneficiaries.
Officials and employees under the jurisdiction of CESC are visiting consumers’ residences to verify documents and collect updated information.
As part of the exercise, original documents are being verified on the spot, while fresh beneficiary details are being recorded through a dedicated mobile application. The declaration process and application formalities are also being completed during the visit.
The verification is being carried out only through authorised meter readers visiting beneficiaries in person, and members of the public have been cooperating with CESC staff by furnishing the required
