The National Natural Agriculture Campaign is being implemented in Kodagu district with 60 per cent funding from the Central Government and 40 per cent from the State Government.
Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha Member Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar released a farmers’ study manual, a natural agriculture diary, a booklet on frequently asked questions, and publications detailing schemes available through the Agriculture Department at his Mysuru office. These materials will be distributed to 3,125 farmers in Kodagu district.
Under the project, 50 resource persons (one for every two Gram Panchayats) and 17 additional trainers will guide and train farmers practising natural farming.
Dr. B.S. Chandrashekar, Joint Director of Agriculture, Kodagu, and Deputy Director D.S. Somashekar were present at the release programme.
