Health Check-up Camps Held at Ashram Schools

A total of 170 students of Marur Thitimathi Ashram School in Ponnampet taluk underwent eye examinations and general health check-ups.

The camp was organized jointly by the Scheduled Castes Welfare Department, Karnataka State Tribal Research Institute, and Farooq Academy of Medical Education Hospital. It was inaugurated by Scheduled Tribes District Officer S. Honnegowda.

He informed that Kodagu district has 218 tribal colonies and health camps are being organized in surrounding areas of ashram schools until February 15. The government has sanctioned Rs16 crore for upgrading Marur Thitimathi and Kushalnagar Ashram Schools from Class 1 to PUC.

A similar camp was conducted for 142 students at Yadavanad Ashram School. Officials stated that health camps will be extended to all tribal colonies in the coming days.
