The 2025 World Heritage Week celebrations, held from November 19 to 25 at Madikeri Fort Hall, concluded on Tuesday with a series of programmesorganised jointly by the Archaeological Survey of India’s Rock Inscriptions and Excavations branches, Mysuru.

The week-long event featured exhibitions of sculptures, Kodagu’s heritage photographs, and ancient artefacts. Competitions including a Vande Mataram and Independence Movement quiz, a painting contest for schoolchildren, a lecture on Kodagu’s regional history, a folk song presentation, mass singing of Vande Mataram, and a heritage walk were held.
At the valedictory ceremony, retired Deputy Superintendent ofArcheology Dr. Nayakanda C. Prakash was the chief guest. Deputy Chief Archaeologists Gadam Srinivas and Sunil Kumar, Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy member Chotteyanda Sanju Kaverappa, and ancient coin collector Keshava Murthy were present. Guests were felicitated on the occasion.
