Construction of a Building for the Kodava – Speaking Koyava Community: Request for Grant

Leaders of the Koyava community management board met Madikeri MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda seeking financial assistance for the construction of a community building for the Kodava-speaking Koyava community, original residents of Kodagu.

At the MLA’s Somwarpet office, the delegation presented an estimate for a building in Murnad and requested government funding for this small community’s development.

MLA Dr. Mantar Gowda promised to recommend the proposal, saying: “Small communities in Kodagu must grow. Government assistance will always be there for their development.” He also pledged to visit the site for the worship ceremony.

The delegation included Jillanda Dadu Madappa (President), Dr. Mechira Subhash Nanaiah (Vice-President), Thorera Kashi Kariappa (Secretary), and board members Mukkatira Harry Poonachha, KalliraNanaiah, Kagnanga Chami Subbaiah, Kallira Bosu, and Mechira Harish Bidappa.
