More than 51 students benefited from a dental hygiene awareness camp organised as part of a community outreach programme, at Hathur High School here recently. The camp was organised by Natalia, a student of 12th standard, Krish Muruvanda, a student of 9th standard, respectively, hailing from Arizona, USA, and Coorg Institute of Dental Sciences (CIDS) in Virajpet. CIDS’s dentists Dr Varshitha and Dr Sania were assisted by Mohammed, a press release stated.

Members of the Hathur High School managing committee, staff members and guests took part in the unique health awareness programme. The health camp not only supported children from underprivileged families and tribal communities but also addressed immediate dental concerns with oral examination. The students were also en-lightened with the knowledge on how to maintain long-term oral hygiene through an inter-active session.
The programme organisers disbursed a dental hygiene kit to each student and staff member in the presence of school Principal Lamani, school president D A Chandrashekar, correspondent H Gopalakrishna and treasurer MA Bopanna.
